BETTYE J. DIXON FOUNDATION RALLIES AGAINST ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE
Alzheimer’s Assn. Walk to End Alzheimer’s®

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 9, 2015) – Yesterday, November 8th, 2015, the Bettye J. Dixon Foundation partnered with more than 3,000 participants, celebrities, individuals, and teams at the 23rd annual Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® in Los Angeles at Century Park (2000 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, 90067). Steve Edwards, Anchor of Good Day LA, served as MC for his 20th year along with musical guests Mark Sellers & Wildhorse, TJ Jackson, 3T, and more. The BJD Foundation joined the 5k walk through Century City with the goal of raising more than $800,000 in support of the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Bettye J. Dixon Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness of Alzheimer’s disease by generating support for medical research and providing scholarships for caregivers to attain the most comprehensive education and certifications required for tending to patients. BJD is humbled to be a part of such a powerful event in the fight against Alzheimer’s, and will aggressively continue to advance support and education in the medical and social communities.

In California, nearly six hundred thousand people have Alzheimer’s disease. Experts estimate that someone in the U.S. develops Alzheimer’s disease every 67 seconds. By mid-century someone will develop Alzheimer’s disease every 33 seconds.
